M 1878 issue canvas haversacks, as used during the Indian Wars Era following the U. S. Civil War. These are still in the original configuration, with two "D Rings" on the back, and were not updated to the M 1904 specifications with two hooks. Most of these are marked in some way, though the markings may be VERY faded due to wear, washing, and
